Iker Casillas lived a difficult year. First the heart attack, then the disease that affected his wife. The last game had played in April 2019 and until yesterday had not yet announced the official farewell to football. He found the way with a long letter published on his social networks: "Today is a difficult day, but not a sad one. I consider myself lucky to have arrived here and for what I got ... I'm happy". The Spanish goalkeeper wanted to thank everyone for the support in these years.
Two Europeans and a World Cup won with Spain and three Champions League won with Real Madrid, the club in which he grew up and where he played for 15 seasons. This morning the Spanish newspapers dedicated a real tribute to Casillas.
